I am a research fellow of the Human Genetics and Cognitive Functions Laboratory in the Institut Pasteur, and an affiliate member of the Human Brain and Behavior Laboratory, in the Center for Complex Systems and Brains Sciences of Florida Atlantic University.

In parallel, I participates in various projects melting Design and Art. I also do scientific journalism for radio and public journals. I am the co-founder of the HackYourPhD community, which advocates the use of openness in Science and Knowledge as a common good in Society. Finally, I am the co-founder and president of ARTEMOC, the French Association of Transdisciplinary Research on Altered States of Cognition.

You will find here all my works, most of them are in Science but you will also find some projects in relation to Art or Society. The blog, for instance, offers some personal thoughts about the new relationship between Science and Society through the prism of complexity approaches.

Elisa Matilde

Elisa Sepúlveda Ruddoff es originaria de Chile. Realiza sus estudios de licenciatura en Historia del Arte y en Economía en la Universidad Sorbona (París, Francia). Obtiene su maestría en Producción Audiovisual en el INA (Instituto Nacional de l’Audiovisual, Francia).

Ha producido cortometrajes de ficción y documentales (Un peu de moi par içi, un peu de moi par là, Pâques, Grand Huit, videoclip para el músico Baptiste W. Hamon).

Ha colaborado en distintas sociedades productoras como NDM Mantarraya (México), Les Films du Worso (Francia), Les Films du Cygne (Francia), María Una Vez (Chile) y Noodles Production (Francia).Fue productora en Films d’Altérité y co-directora del festival binacional de documentales México-Francia; VISOR/ VISEUR y muestras de cine documental chileno.

Hoy en día es directora y productora de documentales de creación, acaba de crear su casa de producción de cine y arte “CAPICUA” y colabora en distintos colectivos artísticos : Frères Singuliers, Asociación Therapoètes. Es videasta y fotógrafa en potencia.

Lourdes Roth

Licenciada en Danza por la Universidad De Las Américas Puebla y Maestra en Estética y Arte por la Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla. Desde 2006 labora como gestora de proyectos de promoción y difusión de la danza y como directora escénica e intérprete en los estados de Puebla y Oaxaca y en México DF. Fue Directora del Primer Festival de Danza de Puebla y colaboradora en diversas producciones del Festival de VideoDanza Agite y Sirva.

Actualmente es miembro activo de Bioscénica con quien desarrolla la pieza transdisicplinaria Empatía 2.0 junto con Minerva Hernández, Mauro Herrera [radiador] y Cristian Delgado (Arte+ Ciencia). Ha colaborado con artistas y colectivos de la escena contemporánea como Alicia Sánchez, Dorón Ras, Charlotte Boye-Christenssen, Urs Jaeggi, Horacio Franco, entre otros. A lo largo de su carrera profesional ha sido acreedora al Fondo Creación Latente por 2010, ha sido Becaria PECDA 2012, Becaria del Padrón de Calidad de Posgrados del CONACYT 2013-2014 y actualmente forma parte del programa Creadores Escénicos 2015 (FONCA, México).

Música & Ingeniería

Ingeniero en electrónica y computación por parte del Copenhagen Engineering College y Maestría en Música con especialidad en Tecnología Musical por parte del posgrado en Música de la UNAM. Actualmente desarrolla su proyecto de doctorado en la misma institución alrededor del tema de la generación de significado a partir de sistemas de interacción gestual, involucrando a la cognición musical, lenguajes no verbales y el desarrollo de herramientas interactivas que mediante la exploración artística permitan dilucidar los procesos de comunicación y producción de significados emergentes.

Mauro también es miembro del colectivo Radiador, ha participado en la sonorización de obras de teatro y danza con presentaciones internacionales como Colombia y España. También ha participado en la integración de software, electrónica y visuales para la obra de otros artistas.

It was June the 24th, 1980 on “San Juan’s day”, when the public of Guadalajara listened for the first time the Silvia’s voice, interpreting Pirecuas, Romances, Corridos, Arrullos in Huichol and Boleros. She was a young girl. The concert took place in the “Agora” of the former Carmen’s Monastery, in Guadalajara; the city where she was born… Since her beginning as a singer, Silvia sings the Mexican music in Spanish and Indigenous languages like: Purepecha, Nahuatl, Huichol and Zapoteco. She performs popular and folk Mexican music as well .

It has always been essential to her to present the work of Mexican composers such as Pancho Madrigal, Luis Manuel Mercado, Rafaél Mendoza, David Haro, Marcial Alejandro, Memo Briseño, as welle as her own compositions ; without forgetting the poetical heritage left by Agustin Lara, Alvaro Carrillo, Chamaco Dominguez, Tomas Mendez, Joaquin Pardave, Consuelito Velazquez, Guty Cardenas, Gabriel Luna de la F., Armando Manzanero, Cuco Sánchez, María Grever and many others who wrote yesterday and today’s Mexico’s musical history.

Silvia counts with the collaboration of many musicians who come from different musical horizons and more over from different countries : Venezuela, Spain, Brazil, France, Africa, Argentina, Cuba, Martinique, Uruguay, Belgium and Mexico. This multicultural fusion gives her music a unique color, mixing sounds from deep Afro-Mexican, Indigenous and Spanish roots with Jazz rhythms. The result is a real example of “Music MESTIZA” which is totally universal and modern, and at the same time, “Authentically Mexican”…

Silvia has sung in many cultural festivals in France, Belgium, Mexico, Croatia, Italy, Spain, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore.

Isabel Burr Raty

Isabel is a Belgian-Chilean independent filmmaker and performance artist based in Brussels since 2013. She is interested in the ontological crack between the native and the engineered, between the un-licensed knowledge of the resettled, the relocated, and the official facts.

​Her ethnographic and experiential approach brings her to explore and embody the inner topography of isolated landscapes in the planet, in the human body and in the scientific lab, in order to develop hybrid bio-artistic-narratives that: dig up chapters left out of history books, blur the limits between fiction and reality and speculate about the memory of the future.

​​In her film work Isabel embodies human Cosmo-visions that are in eco-survival resistance, bringing the imaginative realisms of the camouflaged and their subversive sense of chronology into the screen.

​​In her performance work she is researching on the operational supra-sensitive principles of totemic anthropomorphism from the lens of bioengineering, combining new media and new materials to create sculptures and lectures that play with synthetic magic and propose bio-autonomy practices.

Maja Smrekar

Maja Smrekar was born 1978 in Slovenia. In 2005 she graduated at the Sculpture Department of Fine Art and Design Academy in collaboration with the Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television in Ljubljana, Slovenia, and holds Master of Arts in New Media since 2016. She has been involved in dog behavior studies by applying canine sports training for the last five years. In her work she has been dwelling on two main topics: the parallel evolution within a relationship wolf – human – dog on one, and the Sixth big species extinction on the other side. Leading different collaborators, composing artistic concepts and participating in their realizations, her professional aim is to communicate the crosssections of art and science to the broad public through a plethora of interactive installations, performances, workshops, lectures and texts as their outcomes.

She has been collaborating with different researchers, teams and individuals at the fields of natural sciences, such as the Institute of Biochemistry at the Medical Faculty of Ljubljana, Faculty of Computer and Information Science, Radiation and Optics Laboratory and Laboratory for Biocybernetics at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Department of Biotechnology and Department of Forestry at the Biotechnical Faculty, all within the University of Ljubljana, Department of Freshwater and Terrestrial Ecosystems at the National Institute of Biology in Ljubljana, Slovenia and the Department of Biology at the Faculty of Life Sciences at Humboldt-University in Berlin, Germany. Among others, she has been artistically collaborating with Ars Eletronica (Linz/Austria), ZKM (Karlsruhe/Germany), Transmediale (Berlin/Germany), Rixc (Riga/Latvia), MK Gallery (Milton Keynes/United Kingdom), Art Laboratory Berlin (Berlin/Germany), Musée de l`Homme (Paris/France), Het Neuwe Institut (Rotterdam/The Netherlands) and for the last ten years with Kapelica Gallery in Ljubljana / Slovenia.

In 2010 she organised international festival HAIP10/New Nature, which took place at Multimedia Centre Cyberpipe in Ljubljana where she has been active as an artistic director for three years. She has been prior an editor in chief of a radio show on contemporary art called The Art_Area at the Radio Študent in Ljubljana for two years. She has been awarded for her work at the Cynetart festival 2012 by the European Centre for Arts Hellerau (Dresden/Germany) with the 1st prize, Honorary mention at the Ars Electronica festival 2013 (Linz/Austria), as well as the Golden Bird Award 2013 – the national award for special achivements at the field of visual art by the Liberal Academy and an Award of the Fine Art and Design Academy (both in Ljubljana/Slovenia). Maja Smrekar lives and works between Ljubljana, Slovenia and Berlin, Germany.

Izzy Tweedie

Isabel Tweedie earned her Bachelor of Arts from Hampshire College where she developed an interdisciplinary concentration in psychology, philosophy of mind, and psychedelic studies. She is currently attending the University of Kent in Canterbury, England where she is working towards a Master’s degree in Critical Theory with a focus on feminist theory. Isabel plans on pursuing a Ph.D. in clinical psychology and is interested in psychotherapy, altered states of consciousness, the therapeutic potential of psychedelic substances, and healing.

Kira DeCoudres

Kira deCoudres is a remix media artist and theorist specializing in topics of body-mind decay, mutation, and mutilation. deCoudres graduated from Hampshire College as a Five College Digital Humanities Fellow studying Science, Technology, and Media Studies.

She has presented theoretical work at the Society for Literature, Science, and the Arts (SLSA), the Electronic Visualization of the Arts (EVA London), and exhibited media work at the International Symposium for Electronic Arts (ISEA). She has been an artist-in-residence at Cultivamos Cultura and performed at Rosekill Performance Art Space. Currently, she is an organizer and Transgenic Modification Archivalist at psyFert: a Psychic Fertility Clinic with collaborator Adam Zaretsky.
